Energyy Performance Certificate

Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) – Certificado de Eficiencia Energetica (CEE)

For an Energy Performance Certificate, from 1st June 2013 a new law came into effect. That law requires the owner of any Tenerife property over 50m2 which is being rented out or sold to possess an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) or Certificado de Eficiencia Energetica (CEE). This is in line with EU Legislation.

Whilst there will probably be an amnesty period, failure to comply can result in a fine to both the vendor and the agency. It is therefore, in everyone´s interests to ensure that the appropriate document is in place.

According to the law “energy efficiency certificates” should be issued by Qualified Certified Architects, Technical Architects, or Engineers with the authority to have the Certificate validated and stamped by the Authorities in Santa Cruz.

We have negotiated a special rate for the Inspection and Certification necessary to comply with the law. Our rates are as follows, based on the floor area of the property excluding balconies and terraces. These rates include for us as Tenerife Estate Agents to oversee the process and make sure it is concluded in a satisfactory manner.
