The Resort
Playa San Juan is a delightful Canarian fishing village located on the south Coast of Tenerife between Las Americas and Los Gigantes. In recent years is has been developed in a similar way to Los Cristianos although is is a fraction of the size.
The harbour area already has a small beach but during 2008, the new beach and esplanade development was completed which has now put Playa San Juan on the map as a tourist resort. The new beach has been planted with Palm trees and the surrounding banana plantations give the whole area a tropical feel.
The new beach and harbour area has a few upmarket bars and restaurants to cater for tourists. The west side of the village has more bars and restaurants serving tapas and most types of international cuisine.
Playa San Juan has a pretty Church Square and apart from the bars and restaurants there are a number of basic shops, but it is not yet a full blown tourist resort. There is a strong British Community building in this up and coming area but Playa San Juan properties are still reasonably priced compared to the developed tourist resorts.

Playa San Juan Property is mostly fairly new and there are a number of developments which are offering new apartments for sale. There also resale apartments dotted around the village, location in not as issue because the village is quite small.
There are some Playa San Juan apartments located on the sea front and overlooking the harbour area at very reasonable prices. Not all of the apartment building have communal swimming pools because they were constructed for residential use. These types of apartment buildings have lower running costs. There are some studios but most apartments tend to be one, two and three bedroomed.
Most Playa San Juan villas are located on the west side of the village. There are some very nice sea front villas which occasionally come on the market.
Playa San Juan is on the old coast road but the island coastal motorway is being extended to Los Gigantes which will make this area more desirable so property prices are set to rise.
Close to Los Gigantes and Puerto Santiago the village is well located next existing tourist areas. The neighbouring village of Alcala has a picture postcard fishing harbour. The 5* Abama Resort Hotel is just down the road which hosts a magnificent golf course.
