Tenerife Property - Location and Choice
Tenerife has always been a popular choice for owners of second homes, especially people seeking a holiday home in a place with a good all year round climate. The weather in Tenerife is virtually unrivaled. Most people who buy a holiday home choose the south of Tenerife because the climate tends to be better and most of the tourist amenities are situated in the south.
The choice of Tenerife property is wide and varied in most places on the south of the Island, especially in the main resorts of Los Cristianos of Las Americas. These main resorts are well developed and probably 80% of the properties are apartments, most of which are in complexes with communal facilities, many of which include swimming pools.
Most Villas tend to be located on the outskirts of the main resorts or in some of the quieter resorts such as Calleo Salvaje which has a relatively high ratio of Villas to Apartments.
Some of the coastal villages like Playa San Juan offer very good value. Although the amenities may not be so well developed, these areas are up and coming and property is very reasonably priced at the moment.
Studios Apartments and Villas - Types of Tenerife Properties
Tenerife Studios tend to be a popular purchase, at entry level prices and they are ideal for holiday use and letting, some studio Tenerife apartments are very spacious and well appointed.
Most other available Tenerife apartments are one bedroom but there is also a good selection of two and three bedroom apartments, many have en-suite bathrooms, storage rooms, parking or garage spaces. Nearly all apartments have balconies or terraces and penthouses usually have a generous roof terrace.
Tenerife Villas can either be located in complexes or on private plots but most of the smaller ones tend to be on complexes with shared swimming pools. The larger and sometimes, more luxurious villas usually have a private swimming pool. Villas start with two bedrooms and range through three to four bedrooms and upwards.
